A quiet week in the Doctor Who TV world, 39 weeks away from the year 2005. Most of us in the US get a rare chance to see Doctor Who on TV this week - the Sci-Fi Channel http://www.scifi.com is repeating the 1996 TV Movie early Monday morning at 3AM Eastern (3AM Pacific West Feed). American Who's live feed on the Business Talk Radio network starts at 4AM Eastern instead of 5AM, so if you listen online or have an actual BTR affiliate where you live you could watch one Doctor Who broadcast on TV and listen to another on the radio at the same time, at least in the Eastern part of the US. On the other hand, UK Doctor Who fans wind up Wholess this weekend so UKTV Gold can air a Carry On movie marathon (they'll be doing this again on 1 and 2 May).
Upcoming airings of Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150A.D. on Showtime
Greats in Australia (times corrected from last week - Showtime's
website isn't helpful):
All airings Australian Eastern Standard Time:
Late Monday 4 May - 12:10AM
Early Sunday 9 May - 4:45AM
Late Wednesday 12 May - 3:05AM
Early Saturday 22 May - 5:25AM
Late Monday 24 May - 2AM
From 1998 to 2003, WQED/WQEX 13,16 in Pittsburgh, PA aired Doctor Who on Saturday nights. Since 1997, WQEX has been a full time simulcast of WQED, even though they broadcast in the same city with virtually identically broadcast range. This week, WQED finally announced that the simulcast will end. WQEX will be leased out to the America's Store home shopping channel, with selected WQED and PBS kids programming airing as well. For those who were still curious.

Series 7, Episodes 14 through 17. Doctor: Jon Pertwee. Black & White version. The 3rd Doctor doesn't think that the astronauts really returned to Earth. In that case, who did? And why are people prepared to kill to keep the men in spacesuits isolated from the space agency and the Doctor? Murder, deception, kidnaping, and a doomed space launch highlight four classic taut episodes of the early Jon Pertwee era.

Returning the Master's remains to Gallifrey, the Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) suddenly faces a timing malfunction in the TARDIS. The Master has caused a crash-landing on Earth, where events will bring about a new Doctor (Paul McGann), a new companion (Daphne Ashbrook), and a 24 hour countdown to the end of the world. Set in the near future of December 31, 1999, Doctor Who tried to bring the sci-fi classic to a new generation of American audiences. Alas, the ratings were high everywhere *except* the US.

Saturday 11PM EDT The Twin Dilemma pts 1+2 of 4
Series 21, Episodes 23 through 24. Doctor: Colin Baker. Several years ago, WYBE tried to air the Colin Baker episodes of Doctor Who. Unfortunately, there was a contract renewal in process at the time, and Colin Baker stories couldn't air in the US. (Usually we never hear about contract renewals as the episodes that need renewing at a given moment aren't ones that are about to air anywhere.) WYBE apparently didn't realize this and managed to air most of the Colin Baker episodes (sometimes labeled as Sylvester McCoy episodes). Well, Colin's back, and he's legal. Regeneration leaves the Doctor in a psychotic state, endangering Peri's life and utterly confusing a space policeman investigating the disappearance of twins.
